Our History

On March 6, 1976, seven families elected a committee to begin a new Baptist Union Church in Strathcona County and began services within a month of that time. The group purchased the property, built the original sanctuary and began meeting on this site almost thirty years ago.

A second phase was added in 1988. That phase included the sanctuary, narthex, lower fellowship hall, kitchen, classrooms, and washrooms. The original sanctuary and basement became a gymnasium and youth centre.

In 2003, after a year of planning, we underwent a major renovation to make our spaces usable and to service our ministry and growth over the next ten years. Most of the facility underwent major changes and space allocations so that we might better serve and provide ministry to children, youth, families, and the community.

Following renovations Trinity began exploring it's ministries and focus. Between Fall 2004 and Spring 2005 the church leadership worked on and developed a new mission statement for the church to give focus and direction for the coming years.

Our mission statement is:
We, the people of Trinity Baptist Church, exist to declare the reign of God in Jesus Christ, by the power of the Holy Spirit in Word, in Worship, in Service, and in Community.

Our staff and council are excited about the prospects of ministry for today and tomorrow as we seek to honor Christ.
