Women’s Ministry

Trinity Women

Trinity Women connect to God’s Word and each other through 3 different weekly small groups. In addition to our small groups, our women’s ministry leadership plans 3-4 events throughout the year that will build and equip the women of our church.  In the past we have made great connections through Coffee Nights and other Special Events, and serving outside our walls by partnering with non-profit organizations.  Keep an eye on our calendar and news sections to hear about what is coming next in women’s ministry!

Read a recap of our Spring Retreat below!

Twenty two ladies from Trinity Baptist Church in Sherwood Park held a retreat the weekend of May 27-29 at Gull Lake Camp.  The venue was perfect for our ladies – the Retreat Centre had seventeen double rooms on two levels.  There was a kitchen and a lounge area, both of which were well used.  In addition, the Retreat Centre had a large room used for arts and crafts and another room used for painting.  The huge building which houses the gym, meeting rooms and dining room was beautiful – we made full use of the large deck area and we had two out of our three teaching sessions outdoors on the lawn!

We brought our very own speaker with us  – Witty Sandle structured her teaching around the retreat theme, “Slow down,” Scripture teaching of the story of Martha and Mary, and her own interest in the prayer method Lectio Divina.   The retreat was designed so that the ladies would have adequate time to learn to paint, do arts and crafts, learn photography, go on a prayer walk and canoe/kayak on the lake.  The painting and photography classes were taught by ‘experts’ in their field.

The cost of the weekend was very reasonable – only $150.00 per lady, which included two nights’ accommodation, meals and snacks for the entire weekend, and the cost of any material used in arts/crafts and painting.

Based on the fact that this year’s retreat was a RESOUNDING SUCCESS, the retreat committee has tentatively booked Gull Lake Centre Camp on May 12, 13 and 14, 2017 for our next ladies’ retreat!
