Parent Connection Nov.24/14

Family Central

November 30th at 9:15am, bring a friend and come to the church to learn more about the biblical, life-transforming process of a mentoring relationship.  Mentoring is a vital aspect of true discipleship, and it all begins with a desire to grow.  Are you ready?

Advent

Our season of Advent begins November 30th.  There are several resources for your family to use that will help you prepare for the birth of Christ.  The family resources are in the downstairs foyer.  Please pick up one per family.

Journey to the Manger:  A free downloadable resources from Focus including family devotions and kids puzzles.  www.ThrivingFamily.com/advent .  Or pick up a pre-printed pack at the church.

Advent Wreath:  Take home a paper wreath to construct and add stickers to each day.  Includes a booklet with family devotions.

Awaiting the Wonder: A devotional booklet for the four weeks of Advent.

Musical

December 14th all children are invited upstairs to watch our Christmas musical “A Play in a Manger”.   There are no classes that day and only the nursery is open.

If you have a child in this year’s musical, please have them at the church at 9am each Sunday for practise as we need to use all the time we have.  Extra rehearsal dates are:

Sunday November 30:  Pizza lunch after church for those with speaking roles

Saturday December 6th: Blocking rehearsal for actors only. 9am-11am at church

Saturday December 13th:  Full dress rehearsal for all children 9am-12pm at church

Family Services

December 21st & 28th will be Family Services.  All children are invited to stay with their parents upstairs for the service.  There are no classes those mornings.  However, the nursery and toddler rooms will be open and supervised for parents who would like to use them.  There are no classes December 14th due to the musical.  Regular classes will resume Jan.4th

Gr. 5/6 Class

November 30th there will be no class.  But there will be a Baptism!  So the Gr. 5/6 kids are invited to stay upstairs in the service with their parents.  This is a great experience for them to hear the testimonies and watch the baptisms take place.

January 4th – Changes are taking place for the Gr. 5/6 class.  The room downstairs is hot and cramped so they will be moving to the Fireside Room beginning in January.  They will begin in the upstairs service, sitting together with the teacher at a reserved bench towards the far left side.  After two worship songs, the teacher will lead them to their class.  Sign in will take place in class.

Have a great week everyone!

May you know that God will never fail you. He will keep His promises to you, because He is faithful, and He never changes.
